Grüsse!

Ready. Set. Fly.

Swissair international travel. Fantastic! Everyone had their own entertainment system. I watched an episode of the Simpsons, and a movie or two. We would have flown another leg in the morning, but we had arrived.

So civil
ized is Switzerland that the airport has free carts to move your luggage. So we loaded directly to a cart from the carousel and walked outside to find our ride.

A taxi was not hard to find, but one that fits two bike boxes, two large suitcases, four smaller bags and two people? Also not so hard as it turns
out. We were off to the hotel immediately. CHF 50 later and we are there: The Marriott Zürich.

Later that evening a short stroll along the Zimmat river from our hotel brings us to the winding narrow streets of old town.

Marriott.Hotel.Life

While looking for our new apartment I am able to glimpse the Hilton Life. We
were lucky enough to gain access to the exclusive Executive Lounge during our stay. Here, under the guise of looking for an apartment, I am able to observe the Hilton Life at its fullest.

In one corner a very large Mediterranean family inhabits the lounge. They have been staying for over a month. We see them for breakfast, for hor d'oeuvres in the evening and also during the day. The Grandmother with rosary beads, dark scarves and dress. Her daughter, a statuesque woman in dark plastic frames with copious black hair framing her olive face is the center of it all. Others join them at moments, men in designer jeans, collared shirts and stylish jackets. Around seven total are living here, I imagine. Are they looking for an apartment as well?
